- 1919 - Registered as a couturière, established her maison de couture at 31 rue Cambon
- 1920s - She launched her first perfume, Chanel No. 5
- 1925 - she introduced the now legendary Chanel suit
- 1930s - The international economic depression had a negative impact on her company
- 1941 - Worked for General Walter Schellenberg, committed herself to the German cause
- 1944 - Chanel was called in to be interrogated by the Free French Purge Committee,
- 1945 - Moved to Switzerland
- 1954 - Revival of her couture house
- 1971 - She died on Sunday, 10 January 1971, at the Hotel Ritz, where she had resided for more than 30 years
